Earlier today, Pitt’s Board of Trustees approved the University’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which includes funds for a 2.5% across-the-board, performance-based maintenance salary increase for eligible nonrepresented faculty and staff, as defined below.

Staff Handbook Update: Nepotism Policy

Pitt Staff should be aware of recent updates to the Employment of Relatives (Nepotism) Policy, as outlined in the General Policies and Guidelines section of the Staff Handbook.

While the employment of relatives is allowed, it is important to note that no special consideration will be given to relatives during the recruitment process. This ensures a fair and equitable hiring environment for all candidates.

Construction on new PRTX bus stations may cause temporary traffic disruptions in Oakland

Pitt employees working in or traveling to the Pittsburgh campus in Oakland should be prepared for potential early morning traffic disruptions from now into July, due to the new University Line bus stations being installed on Fifth Avenue.

Over the next few weeks, crews will be working weekdays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Fifth Avenue between Chesterfield Road and North Bellfield Avenue.

To accommodate this work, one travel lane and the sidewalk adjacent to the work area may be closed. Traffic restrictions will be removed by 6 a.m. each morning.

Improvements to Time and Absence Reporting in Pitt Worx

Important Information for all Pitt Worx Time and Absence Module users:

As part of our continued effort to enhance your experience in Pitt Worx, we’re excited to announce that following a brief scheduled outage from June 20-22, timecards will be transitioned to the new Redwood User Interface (UI) on June 23.  

Pitt Worx Outage, June 20-22

The Pitt Worx system will be down for scheduled maintenance and will be unavailable from Friday, June 20 at 10 p.m. ET until Sunday, June 22 at 10 p.m. ET. During this time, employees will be unable to access Pitt Worx.

Those who need to submit timecards for the week of June 15-21 should do so before or after the outage period; timecards cannot be submitted or approved during the system outage.

As a reminder, timecards must be submitted and approved by noon on Monday, June 23.
