Pitt Proud to Sponsor Women's Employment Opportunity Fair


The University of Pittsburgh is proud to be a hiring partner sponsor of Dress for Success Pittsburgh and EmployHer Pittsburgh’s Summer Opportunity Fair, a community pop-up event removing barriers to employment for women. Recruiters from Pitt’s Talent Acquisition team will be on hand throughout the day’s events to meet with prospective job seekers and connect them with available University positions.

OHR Restructuring Aims to Unify Complete Employee Lifecycle

Garland promoted to new position of Senior Director of Talent Management

Vice Chancellor for Human Resources James Gallaher Jr. has announced a restructuring in leadership and reporting in the Office of Human Resources (OHR), combining the functions of Talent Acquisition and Organizational Development & Learning under a new Talent Management leadership structure that will support the entire Pitt employee lifecycle, from sourcing and hiring, through onboarding, development, career growth and succession.

Pitt Worx Outage, June 19-21

The Pitt Worx system will be down for maintenance and will be unavailable from Friday, June 19 at 10 p.m. ET until Sunday, June 21 at 7 a.m. ET. During this time, employees will be unable to access Pitt Worx. 

University Encourages Flexibility During I-376 Closure


PennDOT is planning for the complete closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-376 (Parkway East) from the Squirrel Hill exit to the Edgewood/Swissvale exit for about three weeks due to the Commercial Street Bridge Replacement. This closure is expected to occur from July 10 through August 3*. The Office of Human Resources wants our Pittsburgh campus community to be aware of the implications of this closure, as well as the University’s responses to mitigate concerns.

Child Protection Clearance Requirements for Take Your Child to Work Day 2026

National Take your Child to Work Day is scheduled for Thursday April 23, 2026. Allowing employees and their children to participate in Take your Child to Work Day activities is decided at the department level.

At University-hosted events, if participating children remain with their parent at all times (shadowing), then there is no need for Child Protection Clearances.
