Wellness Incentives

Faculty and staff can participate in the Wellness Incentives program by earning Reward Dollars for every healthy activity you complete. Participants with UPMC Health Plan coverage can earn rewards for completing activities such as the MyHealth Questionnaire, biometric screenings, preventive care services, and more.

Plan Year 2025-26

You and your covered spouse or domestic partner, if applicable, are each eligible to earn up to $300 in HIA Reward Dollars. Please refer to the section for your Health Plan for more information on how to use and access these rewards.

HIA Reward Dollar Point Levels

Level 1

75 points

$75 dollars added to UPMC Consumer Advantage Debit Card

Level 2

150 points (includes 75 form Level 1)

Additional $75 on the UPMC Consumer Advantage Debit Card

Level 3

225 points (includes 75 from level 1 and 75 from level 2)

Additional $75 on the UPMC Consumer Advantage Debit Card

Level 4

300 points (include 75 points from each of the first three levels)

Additional $75 on the UPMC Consumer Advantage Debit Card

Panther Gold and Panther PPO Participants

HIA Reward Dollars for Panther Gold and Panther PPO are placed onto a UPMC Consumer Advantage Visa debit card that can be used to cover the cost of certain medical and prescription expenses. Reward dollars are earned and credited to your debit card throughout the plan year as you complete each tier level. For more information about the types of expenses you can use your Reward Dollars for, please visit upmchealthplan.com/pitt.

If you enroll in a Panther Gold or Panther PPO health plan, you will receive a debit card with a zero-dollar beginning balance. Your earned Reward Dollars will then be applied to the card for your use after you've completed each tier.

If you are also enrolled in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program, you will not receive an additional debit card. Any Reward Dollars earned will be credited to the same debit card. FSA funds are automatically used before any Reward Dollars that are earned.

Note: Unused HIA dollars left in the account after June 30 will rolled over into the next plan year’s account up to 1x the deductible.

Panther Basic Participants

Panther Basic Participants will have their reward dollars applied to their September paycheck following the completion of the plan year.

*Effective July 1, 2022, HIA Reward Dollars may be used for eligible over-the-counter expenses (eligible expenses match health care FSA funds). These usable reward dollars can include those earned during plan year 2024 - 2025 or funds rolled over from the previous plan year.
