Dave DeJong has been named the permanent senior vice chancellor for business and operations, ending his acting status in this capacity since May 2020. During his 32-year tenure at Pitt, Dave has held multiple leadership roles, including vice chancellor of human resources, executive vice provost and professor in the Department of Economics within the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences.

The Office of Human Resources will now fall under the Business and Operations umbrella, restoring the original organizational structure and further strengthening synergies across operations units. Mark Burdsall will continue to serve as acting director of human resources under Dave’s supervision. We congratulate Dave on his appointment!
