The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce Laura Schmid as the new Director of Shared Services effective July 12, 2021. In her new role, Laura will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of strategic plans within HR Shared Services. She will continue to evolve OHR’s operational performance. Laura will work closely with all facets of OHR to cultivate a culture of consistent process improvement and optimization.

Laura is a University of Pittsburgh alumna and an experienced administrator with an extensive background in higher education. She specializes in a multitude of disciplines including project management, operational process analysis, efficiency improvement, organizational design, and strategic planning. Laura most recently served as the Director of Personnel at the Graduate School of Public Health since 2013.
