All faculty and staff, as well as their dependents, are encouraged to get a flu shot to help you stay healthy throughout the winter months. In particular, faculty and staff who work in health sciences, or have any type of exposure to patients, should consider receiving the vaccination.
Those with UPMC Health Plan coverage can receive a flu shot at no cost in addition to receiving Health Incentive Reward Dollars for having it done. If you would prefer to obtain your flu shot off-campus, UPMC Health Plan members may do so from a participating provider at no out-of-pocket cost. Simply present your UPMC Health Plan member ID card at the time you receive your flu shot and you will not have to submit a receipt or any other additional paperwork to UPMC Health Plan. Employees without UPMC Health Plan coverage can still receive a flu shot at the clinics, but may have to pay the $45 out-of-pocket cost and seek reimbursement through their health insurer.

2025 Falk Pharmacy Flu Shots
In addition to these clinics, Falk Pharmacy will welcome walk-ins for flu vaccines starting Monday, September 15, 2025. Walk-in flu vaccinations will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Off-Campus (Off-Site) Flu Shots
UPMC Health Plan members may obtain a flu shot from a participating provider at no out-of-pocket cost. Simply present your UPMC Health Plan member ID card at the time you receive your flu shot and you will not have to submit a receipt or any other additional paperwork to UPMC Health Plan.
If you obtain a flu shot at a clinic or pharmacy that does not participate with UPMC Health Plan, then you will need to pay for the flu shot at the time of service and file a claim for reimbursement.

The Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub, located on the Pittsburgh campus at 4041 Fifth Avenue (at the base of Nordenberg Hall), offers all COVID-19 vaccines, the flu vaccine, and several other key vaccines. Find available hours, parking information, and more at their website.
