OHR On-Site Support: Spring Term 2022

Returning to Campus for the Spring 2022 Term

Beginning Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, students will shelter in place as they return to campus for the spring term. Staff will continue to operate with hybrid work continuing for those working under flexible work arrangements, and in-person work continuing otherwise. Review James Gallaher’s message to the University on guidelines for the spring term.

As the University welcomes employees, students, and visitors back to campus this spring, the Office of Human Resources offers the following details regarding on-site support for the University community.

As a reminder, OHR representatives can be reached by telephone or by submitting an online inquiry. Craig Hall is swipe-access only; unscheduled walk-ins are not accepted.

By submitting an online inquiry:

  • Submitting your inquiry online is the best way to have your inquiry addressed by the appropriate team
  • General OHR, Benefits, and Payroll-related inquiries can be made online at www.hr.pitt.edu/contact-ohr

By telephone:

  • For general OHR inquiries, call 412-624-7000, option 3
  • For benefits-related inquiries, call 833-852-2210
  • Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please note: if you call OHR with your inquiry, please do not also submit an online inquiry; all telephone inquiries are logged by OHR representatives should a follow-up call or email be necessary. Additionally, if you have already submitted an online inquiry, we ask that you please do not submit duplicate requests, as doing so may result in slower response times.

OHR staff may be working remotely but are still available via email and phone. Office phones were converted to Teams and all staff have the capability to take calls.

On-Campus Health and Safety Practices

All University members, including all visitors, must comply with health and safety practices while on campus.

Face Coverings

  • Indoors: Regardless of vaccination status, face coverings are required indoors, unless you are in an enclosed private office or workspace.
  • Outdoors: Individuals who are not fully vaccinated should wear face coverings when outdoors and unable to maintain physical distancing. Additionally, anyone is welcome to wear a face covering outdoors based on their own comfort level.

Hand Hygiene

Regular hand hygiene is a key element of reducing the spread of illness and protecting yourself and others. Hand sanitizing stations are located around campus for the University community. Additionally, it is encouraged that you wash your hands thoroughly and often, as well as clean high-touch areas in your workspace frequently.

COVID-19 Guidance for the Pitt Community

On Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, the Standards and Guidelines (Pitt’s Health Rules) that are in place to keep our community as safe and healthy as possible were revised. These Health Rules apply to all University members — including students, faculty and staff on all campuses — when on University property. Review Pitt’s Health Rules.
