COVID-19 Pandemic: Virtual Form I-9 Verifications

Update - May 25, 2021: In-person Form I-9 processing resumes June 1, 2021. Please review this announcement for details about in-person I-9 processing and services and information about how to schedule an appointment.

Update - December 2, 2020: All Form I-9 processing will be conducted remotely, effectively immediately. A previous update noted that in-person processing would be resuming. However, in-person processing will no longer take place in an effort to protect the University community. Details about how to schedule virtual Form I-9 verifications are located on this announcement.

To protect the health of our students, staff, faculty, and community during the emergency period, the Office of Human Resources has implemented an online scheduling process for Form I-9 verifications. All Form I-9 verifications are being completed virtually by OHR during this time.

Employees that need to complete Form I-9 verification, including new hires, rehires, and reverifications, will need to schedule a virtual appointment with HR Shared Services. Individuals can schedule an appointment for Form I-9 verifications using the online scheduler.

HR Shared Services will provide more details about what is required for the individual's appointment, if necessary. Verification appointments will be conducted through Zoom and are encouraged to have a verifier participate on the call to assist with reviewing work authorization documents.

Employees that complete the virtual Form I-9 verification process are required to bring their work authorization documents to the Office of Human Resources (100 Craig Hall) no later than three (3) business days after normal operations resume on campus. Individuals will be notified prior to a return to campus with a reminder of this requirement.
