The new Office of Human Resources website was designed with you in mind.
Our goal was to create an easy-to-use website with clear navigation that considers all facets of people related to the University--from current staff members and managers to those seeking employment to people simply looking for information about Pitt, Human Resources, and more.
Part of the process in creating the new the website included reorganizing and simplifying the vast amount of information we have to share. Below you will find some tips to help you navigate the new website.
Instead of separating by HR departments, the new website wants to help you, as a person, find information.
If you're thinking about applying to work at Pitt (and you should), start here. Find information about different opportunity types, our regional campuses, and what makes Pitt a top university and a great place to work.
Just hired? First, welcome to the University! Second, here you'll find all the good stuff prior to your first day including information about orientation, any clearances you may need, and, if you're new to Pittsburgh, resources and guides about the city.
This is where you can find all of the OHR departments. If you work at the University and are looking for information about benefits, educational and development resources, how to make the most of your work-life balance, and much more, this is the place for you.
HR liaisons, managers, and staff alike will be able to find University guides, forms, and resources here. With the exception of Talent Acquisition, all of the pages in this section are hosted on a Sharepoint site (more info on this below), and you'll need your University username and password to access them.
I Want To...
This box will change over time for items like open enrollment, upcoming events, and more, and based on how users are utilizing the OHR site.
OHR Staff Directory
Can't think of the name of the person who helped you but remember their face? The new HR Staff Directory is more optimized to allow you to find the right person the first time. Each staff member has a brief description of their job duties, an email address, and a phone number so that you can get your questions and concerns assisted with as quickly as possible. You can also view staff by department.
Sharepoint - Employee Resources
To help facilitate the process of finding the information you need, when you need it, a Sharepoint site has been implemented and integrated into the main OHR website (you can find the links under the Employee Resources section, or head right to Sharepoint). The Sharepoint site has resources for managers, hiring guides, department-specific information, guides and forms of all kinds, and more.
Because the information on the Sharepoint is University-specific, you'll need your Pitt username and password to gain access--the website uses the Pitt portal, just like you would use when logging into my.pitt.edu. Once logged in, the process of switching between the main OHR site and Sharepoint should be seamless.
Oh Yeah, We're Mobile!
All devices, big and small, can take advantage of the newly optimized website on mobile. Access the information you need from anywhere. The "hamburger" button opens up the main navigation, just like you would see it on your desktop. Or, use the search function on the top right of the page.
