Comprehensive Medication Management for Global Travel

COVID-19: Contacting the Benefits Department

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office of Human Resources has limited on-site support and is primarily working remotely. During this time, Craig Hall is not open to the public; walk-ins will not be accepted and forms cannot be dropped off in-person or faxed. During this time, we recommend submitting all requests and inquiries online in lieu of sending physical mail. For Benefits forms not completed online via Pitt Worx or DocuSign, please submit by fax at 412-864-5885 or by submitting an inquiry online.

If you have a Benefits-related inquiry, including the submission of forms or documentation, the quickest way to receive assistance is to call the Benefits Department at 833-852-2210. You can also submit an inquiry at www.hr.pitt.edu/contact-ohr.

As a Pitt employee, your department may have many exciting opportunities to travel abroad. However, preparing for these adventures can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to protecting your health. Fortunately, a new travel health service, Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM) for Global Travel, is now available to all full and part-time regular University faculty and staff with UPMC Health Plan coverage.

University employees who utilize this benefit will receive a personalized plan that includes:

  • Suggested vaccines and medications that should be used prior or during travel including pricing and information on where to obtain
  • Information about how to prevent diseases that may affect you while traveling
  • Treatment recommendations for altitude sickness, jet lag, motion sickness, sun exposure, insect bites, and more
  • General tips to help you manage your chronic illnesses, disabilities, and food safety abroad
  • Best practices for traveling internationally with your medications

Employees seeking more information about the CMM for Global Travel benefit may contact mymeds@pitt.edu or 412-383-6337 (MEDS).
