Student Health Plans

Attention Pitt students with prescription coverage through UPMC:

Beginning May 1, students enrolled in a University-sponsored medical plan with UPMC will be eligible to take advantage of potential savings on generic medications through Express Script’s partnership with GoodRx. Notices have been sent to covered students to describe the program, its benefits, and how to opt-out if you’re not interested. We will also be posting a Frequently Asked Questions document online in the near future. If you have questions in the meantime, please submit an online inquiry to the Benefits team.

The medical plan provides comprehensive coverage with a modest deductible. Students may also choose to participate in University sponsored dental and vision plans.

Please Note: Student coverage does not automatically continue each academic year. Re-enrollment is required every fall to maintain active coverage. All coverage ends 8/31 without re-enrollment.

Questions about student health coverage? For general plan inquiries, contact the University's Benefits Department by calling 833-852-2210 or submit an inquiry online. For enrollment questions, contact UPMC Health Plan by calling 1-888-499-6885.
