Corporate Wellness Starts with You! 

Join the University of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Business Group on Health (PBGH) in the Move It and Lose It Annual Corporate Wellness Challenge. The University of Pittsburgh is proud to partner with the PBGH, the School of Education’s Department of Health and Physical Activity and American Heart Association’s Start! Walking Program. This program consists of a physical activity initiative to fight heart disease and stroke by getting people moving through workplace walking programs. Participating in this program can significantly improve your health.

This unique challenge enables employees to:

  • Compete with each other
  • Compete on teams (3-7 employees)
  • Compete with other employees from other local organizations

START DATE

Challenge begins March 2nd and ends April 26th.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Walking Teams are now being organized. Activities counted are not only limited to walking and running. Gardening, housework, golfing, and many other activities are converted into steps and evaluated on a weekly basis.

A Lunchtime Kickoff Event that features presentations on exercise and fitness will be held on March 3rd at 12:00pm in the Kurtzman Room of William Pitt Union. No RSVP is needed to attend this event. Those who attend will be entered to win a membership to the University Fitness Center for the remainder of the semester!

Weekly Reports Will Include

Company

  • Total miles
  • Top male and female leaders
  • Team’s average mileage

Company comparison

  • With other participating companies
  • Overall top male and female leaders
