FMLA Administration
The administration of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for University staff members, including Bargaining Unit employees, post doctoral scholars and associates, and research associates, has been transitioned to the University’s disability carrier MetLife.

Under University policy, if you have been absent for more than three consecutive work days or have a foreseeable need for leave within 30 days you must:

  1. Notify your immediate supervisor or department administrator

  2. Call MetLife at 1-888-777-7418 to file for FMLA  (If calling from overseas use 1-800-237-5298)

For more information on FMLA and the University’s Short and Long Term Disability programs refer to your applicable job type. Once selected, you will only be provided with materials pertinent to your job type.
Please select a job type from the drop down menu above.

Note: MetLife will not administer the Faculty Medical Family Leave (FMFL) for Eligible Faculty. The Office of the Provost will continue to administer the policy and can be reached for questions at 412-624-4222.
