ALL•TEMPS Application Process and Job Opportunities
We are pleased to welcome you to the University of Pittsburgh’s ALL•TEMPS, a service administered by
the Office of Human Resources for exclusive use by University departments and schools.
ALL•TEMPS is dedicated to providing the University with qualified temporary personnel - clerical, administrative,
technical and custodial - to fill short term staffing needs.
Temporary employees are assigned to departments to assist with special projects, cover for employees who are
temporarily out, and/or to fill in for vacant positions.
Career Opportunities
ALL•TEMPS provides the opportunity to gain campus experience and references, as well as to acquire and refine
skills commonly used in the workplace. Many of our temporary workers strive towards becoming Regular University
of Pittsburgh staff employees. We provide the exposure and networking opportunities needed to increase
competitiveness in the application process.
We offer the flexibility of working assignments in many diverse academic, business or research environments with
varying duration. Assignments can last from one day to six months. The schedule for most assignments is 8:30am to
5pm Monday-Friday, however schedule flexibility and part-time assignments do exist. We accommodate candidates
interested in short-term or long-term work. Apply with us whether you are between jobs, retired, looking for
summer employment or looking to “get your foot in the door” with a University career.
Compensation and Benefits of Employment through ALL•TEMPS
ALL•TEMPS offers competitive wages according to the type of work being performed in relation to the university
wage scale. Temporary employees are paid bi-weekly for hours worked and are eligible for direct deposit. Please
refer to the All•Temps bi-weekly pay schedule.
2007 All•Temps bi-weekly pay schedule
Temporary employees are not eligible for University health and life insurance, but the University will make
contributions to Social Security, Liability Insurance, and Workers Compensation.
A University of Pittsburgh Temporary Staff ID card is available for use, and can be used to access Pitt
Shuttles and some library privileges.
Temporary Assignments offer networking opportunities in various University Departments that can be used in
conjunction with applying for regular staff employment opportunities.
