ALL•TEMPS is a temporary staffing service administered by the Office of Human Resources for exclusive use by
University of Pittsburgh departments and schools. The ALL•TEMPS service is dedicated to providing our clients
with qualified temporary personnel – clerical, administrative, technical and custodial – to fill short term
staffing needs in a timely manner.
As of October 24, 2005, all University departments requesting a temporary employee will have the capability to
process those requests electronically in PittSource.
Departments may continue to request a temporary employee through direct communication with their Employment
Specialist; however, the ALL•TEMPS site has been designed as an additional method that is user-friendly and
streamlined, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the process.
TYPES OF REQUESTS:
If you have a temporary staffing need, then please confer with your department administrator to begin the process.
There are two different types of requests – an ALL•TEMPS Request or an ALL•TEMPS Recruitment Exception Request –
with guidelines that are explained below. Please remember that if your department requires budget approval before
hiring temporary staff, then you must attach supporting documentation to your request.
ALL•TEMPS REQUEST (“AR”)
ALL•TEMPS RECRUITMENT EXCEPTION REQUESTS (“ARER”)
PAYROLL:
After a temporary employee is oriented through ALL•TEMPS and completes the appropriate payroll documents, the employee will be
given a time record and instructions for submitting it to our office. Although submission of the time record is the employee’s
responsibility, the supervisor’s signature is required for time record approval before payment can be processed. Checks will be
issued biweekly.
***NOTE: Regardless of whether your department submits an ALL•TEMPS REQUEST or ALL•TEMPS RECRUITMENT EXCEPTION REQUEST, your
department will be charged the employee’s hourly rate of pay plus a 12% service fee and a 7.4% fringe benefits charge to
cover liability insurance, Workers’ Compensation, and employer contribution to Social Security .***
If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. We look forward to working with you.
