Available Services
Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion:
- coordinates and facilitates the development and implementation of equal opportunity, nondiscrimination, and diversity policies, procedures, and guidelines for the University;
- monitors progress in implementing diversity initiatives and realizing objectives for enhancing inclusion;
- prepares institutional and governmental reports including, but not limited to, the University's affirmative action plan;
- conducts studies and undertakes research projects;
- participates in a variety of training events;
- handles or coordinates the handling of internal complaints of discrimination or discriminatory harassment;
- serves as a link between the University and other institutions, governmental agencies, or community groups with related concerns; and
- maintains the centralized job posting website for faculty positions.
Goals
The goals of the University of Pittsburgh diversity and inclusion commitment are to:
- achieve diversity in the racial/ethnic and sex composition of its workforce at all levels;
- enhance opportunities for enrolling, retaining, and graduating students from underrepresented groups;
- provide accessibility and accommodation to individuals with disabilities;
- create a campus environment free of bigotry and harassment; and
- engage minority- and women-owned businesses as vendors or suppliers.

Office Location
Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Inclusion is conveniently located at 412 Bellefield Hall, and is open year-round except for published University holidays. Regular business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our staff is always available to answer inquiries or provide information, however, appointments are recommended for visitors so that we may better serve you.
