  • Undergraduate

When a staff person registers for undergraduate classes, the appropriate scholarship will automatically appear on the invoice generated from the Office of Student Accounts. There is no need to complete any paperwork.

  • Graduate

When a staff person registers for graduate level courses, the tuition is subject to payroll withholding taxes (35.65%).

Spouse/Partner

A Request for Education Benefits Form must be filled out at the beginning of each academic year. When returning this form to the Benefits Department, a copy of the marriage license or other proof of marriage must be supplied (in accordance with University Policy 07-11-01). This form will enable the spouse/partner to receive a staff scholarship for the fall, spring and summer terms for the academic year.

If the student is registered for graduate level course work, the Benefits Department will prepare a separate tax calculation and forward it to the Payroll Office. The student will then be taxed (35.65%), lowering the amount of the benefit applied.

Dependent Child

A Request for Education Benefits Form must be filled out at the beginning of each academic year. When returning the form to the Benefits Department, a copy of the from page of the most recent Federal income Tax form 1040 must be supplied (in accordance with University Policy 07-11-01) to indicate that the request is for a dependent. This form will enable the dependent to receive a staff scholarship for the fall, spring and summer terms for the academic year.
